Hunter Hall have a big ad at Martin Place train station that I see all the time. From memory, it states that a HH fund has returned 19% for the last some 20 years – Editor, can you confirm or deny these rumours?
Value Growth Trust inception date was 2 May 1994.
Compound Annual Return to date has been 19.9%
on a pre-tax basis.

you essay on sustainability on earth has a lot of worrying truths and makes rather an uncomfortable read. therefore I felt the author would be greatly drawn to the fact that a lot of dangerous agrichemicals can soon(some this year) be replaced with naturally based (terpenes)encapsulated (very efficient time release delivery)products with high efficacy and very competitive cost(highly profitable too).
by coincidence, the name of the company which developed and strongly protected the actives and delivery system is Eden Research plc, based in UK. the first product, which completed very successful, independantly conducted, 3 year field trials goes on sale via its licensee ( part of Denmark’s Cheminova group) in Q3 2008.
Eden has been 10 years getting here and stands to get EU Registration in a couple of months time for this initial product which deals with botrytis in grapes (and lots of other crops), the company’s shares trade on the PLUS market in London with a tiny market cap or around GBP37m.
there are several other products in various stages of development for combatting a wide variety of fungal, bacterial etc pests/diseases including nematodes but all from the same IP platform which accelerates all subsequent work since the properties of the terpenes have already been accepted as GRAS.
the technically vital element is the encapsulating delivery system as this can also be used for co-encapsulting a variety of actives for enhanced performance and extending patent life of existing products.
this is of course only a snap shot but since what Eden does should fit well with your philosophy, I hope you may give me a call? ( +44 7836 654 554)
I have been a very long term backer and so have a personal angle but by lucky coincidence this one seems to have come right at a time whem the benfits of what it owns are being brought into the light by environmental concerns and the need to enhance food production without poisoning everything around.
