Energy Majors and Government Think Tanks get a Big FAIL…

There is a Hydrocarbon that is more Hydro than Carbon (CH4). It is abundant on all continents and my betting is that it’s even more available than we currently think.

Lets talk Climate:

• We need to regulate carbon and polutants in our atmosphere.
• We need affordable Electricity and lots of it.

Here is what Helen Knight of the New Scientist has to say:

If Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) is installed as standard on all gas-fired power stations, and if we can find a way to minimise water usage and the potential for enviromental contamination, natural gas (CH4) will be providing us with clean energy for many decades to come.

Crutially, CCS on gas-fired power stations can be done precombustion and we already have some answers including ideas like CSIRO solar gas and forcing prossessed gas through alkanolamine where CO2 is absorbed.

A Gov. drive for clean, gas-fired power stations should be an imperative.

Also some time in the future it may be possible to introduce bacteria to coal seams and produce more Meth-Gas.
